Wait is almost over......The Russians Unite

Good news to all the Crosby fans out there, the wait for him to come back from his 9 month concussion is almost over he has been cleared for contact. One problem even though he’s cleared I don’t think the team members get that they now can hit Sidney Crosby without any worries, he has been trying to force them to hit him but there was no luck on the situation. Maybe we need someone to help out? And what I mean by that is maybe someone needs to get Mario Lemieux to dust off those skates and show the team there is nothing to fear. Hope fully the team can give him a lot of hits to get him set for a real game quickly, because I don’t know about you but I'm missing the “Two Headed Monster” and Sid the Kids amazing huge number of goals.
In other sports news unfortunately we lost the whole team of Russia in a plane crash on September 7th 2011, the event affected us all but mostly affected the families of the people who died.
Alex Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin were always great friends despite the competitive rivalry between the two, to add to it they decided to teamed up to raise money for the families who lost their loved ones in the unfortunate crash. They organized a charity theme for their teams' game at Consol Energy Center to benefit the families left behind when all members of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team died recently.
"It's important for me, for all of us," Malkin said. "We're all one big hockey family and we need to help."
He approached Penguins management to get things rolling.
"Malkin hasn't asked for a lot of meetings with general manager Ray Shero and myself in his time here, but right away he wanted to do something, not only for this game but for the families and for the team, for his loss, for the country's loss, for hockey's loss," Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said.
As part of a league-wide foundation drive, the wives and girlfriends sold bracelets at the game.
They went even further to support the fellow people by putting a patch on their jerseys and a sticker on their helmets to support them; those game worn jerseys will be auctioned off on the www.nhl.com. Hall of famer and owner Mario Lemieux dropped the puck at a ceremonial faceoff between Malkin and Ovechkin.
All the proceeds will go to the ones who were left behind while the crash of the KHL Russian team happened on their way to the opening game.
"It was a big tragedy in Russia and in sports," Ovechkin said. "Everybody has to be responsible and help the families. We just want to support them how we can."
Alex Ovechkin wears one of the bracelets and said that most of his team members wear one as well.
"The amount of people that are a part of or touched by or played with or coached by or came from the same country as a lot of people on that team is amazing," said Bylsma, who spent four seasons as a teammate with one of the victims, Ruslan Salei, in Anaheim. "We have several players that are touched by it significantly."
Bruce Boudreau the coach or the Washington capitals informed that they were happy to get involved.
"I think it's fabulous," he said. "Hopefully, they raise a ton of money to help the families of everybody that's been affected by this.
"It was a terrible disaster, and the one great thing about the hockey world is that it's one big family when it comes down to it."
