Ovechkin Disappearing.......Or Is He Already Gone?

Ovechkin was suspended for 3 games for an illegal hit on Zbynek Michalek on January 22 2012 but that's not really shacking up the media, every one gets a suspension for an illegal hit but when is it you hear a player refusing to go to the All-Star Game?
Alexander Ovechkin says he doesn't not want to go to the All-Star Games because he feels he doesn't deserve it after the hit on Michalek....is this true or was he afraid to face Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang? He may not think he doesn't deserve it but it also makes people wonder this is a big event that every one wants to see their favourite players but maybe the biggest reason he doesn't want to go is because he know his fans are starting to fade away on him.
It turns out not many people are rooting "Ovechkin! Ovechkin! Ovechkin!" any more but rooting "Crosby! Crosby! Crosby!" or "Geno! Geno! Geno!" or even "Neal! Neal! Neal!" more instead. Is it because Ovechkin's not acting like Captain material? or has been benched so often for his repetitive anger issues? or is it because Alex Ovechkin's normal goal average is down father than Evgeni Malkin's and the rising star James Neal?
Alex Ovechkin isn't even on the chart for points at all and the Washington Capitals are stuck in the double digits the one guy is showing Ovi how to do his job and that my friends would be the alternate Brooks Laich, he said several times that the status they are at is nothing to be proud of and they need to do better. When Laich speaks to the media about the issues of his team he has a firm voice with a hint of frustration and a bit of passion to make the team better, not to give Ovechkin a bad rap but when he pops in to the camera he doesn't sound interested in talking about the subject but rather about himself, Hmm sounds like someone wants it to be all about him doesn't he?
Sidney Crosby has been out for a while with injuries and as every one knows Ovi and Crosby don't quite like each other but still a lot of players don't and they still gave an incite on how they feel with Sid out of the game, when Alex was asked questions about who's the best player?, fast skater? powerful player? or even who has a lot of passion? his answers were all the same "Me" none of his teammates other NHL players just him. Other players on the other hand answered with "Crosby" "Steven Stamkose" "Chara" or other players none nominated themselves.
Yeah ok so what Ovechkin's a little full of himself, but what about the time he argued with Bruce Broudreau because he sat for one shift it seams to me Alex Ovechkin is like that one kid on your team when you were a kid that wouldn't pass to you because he wants the goal for himself and if you take that chance away from him he will get mad.
I personally think Ovi needs a little more of a break than just a 3 game suspension and the All-Star Games i mean the Washington Capitals actually looked like they were doing better without him....thanks to Ovi the Capitals won a game without him and other people got a chance to score some goals.
For all the fans Ovechkin is a pretty good player but like Roberto Luongo he was amazing at the beginning when he didn't have the big bucks once Luongo started getting $7 mill a year he got worse ESPECIALLY when it came to the playoffs, Ovechkin got on his big contract and thought the money is gonna save him as long as he scores a few goals now and then and makes sure the "C" stays on his jersey. But once that "C" is gone Alex Ovechkin's gonna hit the pavement fast and people will see his flaws.....but as long as the "C" stays the flaws are hidden behind the checkbooks and the fans sitting in his locker room.
There is so much more to say, hes still a good player but the facts add up on how good he looks like he is and what he really is.......So a question you can help me answer, Do you see Alex Ovechkin still on the Capitals or do you think a quick trade for a more team worthy player is in order?
