Evgeni Malkin also know as "Geno", has taken the NHL by storm while Sidney Crosby has been on injury reserve.
Sidney Crosby went back on injury reserve in November after being hit in the head they thought it was his concussion coming back, then he went for more tests and they found out that what they thought was a concussion returning was actually a healed fracture in his neck. While Crosby is gone Malkin has been taking charge and is doing well at it for sure, He is #1 in Points and Shots On Goal, #2 in Goals Scored and Power Play Points. It would be quite shocking if Geno didn't win the Hart Memorial Trophy, he has truly showed he deserves it with his skill to lead the team, his strength and passion for the game and the amazing sportsmanship he has shown through out the season.
Evgeni Malkin a native from Magnitogorsk, Russia has had a passion for the game since he was little, when he was 17 he was in the Metallurg Magnitogorsk Hockey Program. Malkin made his international debut in 2003 U-18 World Championships where they took bronze, Malkin played in many more World Championships even the IIHF World U-20 Championships and was named MVP. He was drafted by the penguins in 2004 entry draft but didn't go to Pittsburgh till 2006-2007 season because IIHF refused to sign a transfer contract to send him over, therefore Malkin had to continue to play with Metallurg Magnitogorsk till his contract expired. In 2008-09 season Geno won his first Stanley Cup and was runner up for Hart Memorial Trophy. This year he is yet again a runner up or maybe even no doubt a winner.
This is showing that Malkin a constant MVP has earned this honorable moment numerous times and many more to come. They will probably continue because Geno's mind is on one thing......to win, succeed, impress and try as hard as he can without any excuses.
This man continues to impress every one even non-fans love him, there is so much to say about him but not enough time in a day to say it all, so the only word to sum it short is Evgeni Malkin is magnificent and the most outstanding player in the NHL.
