Mellon arena where Mario Lemieux saved the Penguins and help the win 2 Stanley cups in a row and where Crosby and the team won the 3rd 

Mellon arena was where the penguins used to play till Consol Energy Center replaced it in 2010. Consol Energy Center broke ground on August 14. 2008 and started building August 2008 - August 2010. It Opened August 18 2010, $321 million later the penguins had an amazing and updated arena to change to. Construction on Mellon Arena began September 26 2011 and still is on going, half of Mellon Arenas roof has been demolished and the other half is waiting to be demolished. 

The great part of all this that came out in the end was on the one side of the Consol Energy Center by where the Mellon Arena Mario Lemieux got a statue of him put up and was reviled Wednesday 7th 2012 to remember his success. The Penguins, family, friends, and fans all came to watch this revel and see their favourite penguins sitting there watching as well. The owner of the team also has a street named after him called Mario Lemieux Pl shows how much he means to Pittsburgh and every one.
